It’s as close as your corner drugstore. Walgreens has signed on as a nationwide supporter of the American Diabetes Association by becoming a National Strategic Partner and choosing the ADA as one of five featured charities of its “Way to Well Commitment™” health and wellness initiative. Walgreens’ new initiative aims to improve the everyday health of Americans across the country through the prevention and early detection of today’s leading diseases — heart disease, cancer and diabetes.
In November, Walgreens will be conducting campaigns for the Association at their more than 7,500 locations across the United States. When you go to the check, you’ll be asked if you want to purchase a coupon in support of the ADA for $1.00. Funds raised from the campaign will be credited to the markets where the money was raised and will support the prevention and detection activities in the local communities! So, if you buy a coupon for $1.00 in Houston, that money stays in Houston! And we all know that every dollar helps!
Walgreens will also be conducting A1C testing and donate $5 from each of the tests to the Association, up to $10,000 during the month of November.
