The American Diabetes Association’s Stop Diabetes @ Work Initiative serves as an educational tool for local corporations to engage their employees about the seriousness about diabetes. The Stop Diabetes @ Work sessions are utilized as lunch and learn classes that employers can provide for their employees during the lunch hour. Topics such as Diabetes 101, Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Weight Loss are discussed to give a corporation the steps needed to improve the livelihood of employees that are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes and allows for continued education for those employees living with diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association’s Houston Office is dedicated to educating “YOU” through our Stop Diabetes @ Work Initiative. To find out how you can become involved or to sign your corporation up, please call us at 1-800-DIABETES or you can go online to, www.diabetes.org/workplace.
