We are excited to announce our Bay Area Step Out! If you can’t make it to Houston or The Woodlands, join us on November 3rd at Walter Hall Park! The event will start at 8am and have a 2 Mile Walk followed by a Health & Fitness Festival. Ashley Rodriguez, who is helping in planning the Bay Area Community Walk says, “Mainland and Clear Lake Medical centers Diabetes Management Team is excited to be involved with the Bay Area walk this year.  As  diabetes educators we have a passion for helping the lives of those affected by diabetes. One of the best ways we can help is to raise money and to participate in events which bring awareness, advocacy and research money to the diabetes community.  With having a walk closer to home it makes it easier for people in our community to participate and come together as a team.” Join us November 3rd to STOP diabetes in League City!

  1. When the cells lack insulin they become starved and since there is no other
source of energy apart from the fats, they get used up.
Keeping blood sugar at healthy levels can prevent diabetic retinopathy from
getting worse. Myth: Diabetics are more susceptible to the common cold and other diseases than others.
