Happy Thanksgiving from ADA Houston

The Houston American Diabetes office is closed so that our employees may celebrate the holiday with family and friends. We are thankful to all of you for another outstanding year. We have the best volunteers in the city and we are thankful for the continued generous support of our community and our corporate partners. We are dedicated to helping in the fight to find a cure for diabetes, and we thank you for all of your help.

I am thankful for a Healthy Family and being able to present my daughter at her wedding this year.  I feel blessed and thankful to be able to work with an aggressive, committed volunteer staff partnership that truly gives of themselves to Stop Diabetes®.

Michelle Hankinson – Manager, Wine & Roses Gala, Sweetheart Program

I am thankful for the love of my family and friends that surrounds me daily. I am thankful for good health. I am truly thankful for the health of my son that was born prematurely earlier this year. He thrives each day and for that, I have a thankful attitude. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to work for my community where I can make a difference regarding diabetes. This platform consistently reminds me how thankful I am for the resources that the American Diabetes Association provides to each person affected by diabetes.

Jennifer Williams – Manager, Mission Delivery

I am thankful for: All of the staff at the Houston ADA office who have helped me go from college student earning class credit as an ADA intern to an undergrad diploma recipient from University of Houston and Logistics Coordinator for Tour de Cure and Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. – My family and boyfriend who have been incredibly supportive while I finish my degree and began working at ADA. My iguana and horses who have not stopped loving me because of the decreased amount of time I’ve been able to spend with them during event time(lol).

Monica Carroll – Logistics Coordinator

I am thankful for a terrific, expanded family and the special joy of having a granddaughter, who, of course, is perfect.  I am very grateful for the gift of wonderful friends who like my family have supported me through joy and sorrow.  And I am thankful for the incredibly talented staff and volunteers that I work with at ADA.
