Despite the heavy rain forecast and the cancellation of the ADA Dignity Memorial Tour de Cure event, supporters enjoyed an impromptu Family Fun Fest. On September 21, 2013, over 500 participants came out to support the cause and show their dedication. The Tour De Cure cyclists, sponsors, volunteers and supporters enjoyed fellowship, food, fun, and music. The encouraging support of the public proves that there can be sunshine even when it rains.
In lieu of the rain out, the ADA is holding a Rain Check Ride on November 10, 2013. There is still time to RSVP for the ride! If you have already paid your registration fee and met your minimum of $150 for the September 21, 2013 TDC ride you are all set for the Rain Check Ride. That’s right, no additional registration fees are required for those who have registered and met their fundraising minimum of $150. Please click here to RSVP: http://tinyurl.com/raincheckride.
Any NEW riders who are interested in participating may register at www.diabetes.org/houstontourdecure. Please note, the $25 registration fee and minimum fundraising requirement of $150 will still be in place for new registrants.
