There are many different ways that we can work to raise awareness and lower risk for diabetes in ourselves and others. Here are just a few that we can all strive to work on in the coming year:
- You can tell a relative or a loved one to get their blood sugar checked;
- You can help galvanize those around you by starting a running club or working your way up to a 5k;
- You could also pass out diabetes literature or links around your workplace to make sure that everyone is aware of their personal risk for type 2;
At the end of the day, the most important thing that you can do is to be a vocal proponent of health and diabetes awareness for everyone around you. Help others, help yourself, and let’s have 2015 be the year that we stop diabetes!
