Diabetes life expectancy improving, study finds (source: BBC)

Previous research done in Scotland showed that men with diabetes lived about 15 years less than men without the condition. For women, that number was 27 years less. However, recent findings in a study have drastically reduced those numbers to 11 and 13, respectively. Thus, the life expectancy for a person living with diabetes is improving significantly.

These findings have been since published in the American Medical Association. Hopefully, we can use these data and bring it a bit closer to home to close that life expectancy gap between those living with diabetes and those living without it in the United States.
